Info on Clinical Fellows Program

Early Bird Developmental Services LLC offers a comprehensive speech pathology clinical fellowship program that provides hands-on experience and mentorship to our recently graduated speech-language pathologists.

Our CF program allows for a range of services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, and communication disorders in pediatrics, including new babies straight from the NICU, early intervention, school age,  all the way up to young adulthood.

Early Bird serves children in a variety of settings, offering clinical fellows the unique opportunity to see children in-homes, clinic, schools, and preschools and daycares. Our office support is top notch, taking care of referrals, authorizations, doctors’ orders, and payment.  We take pride in being able to give therapists the tools they need to focus on clinical excellence and don’t take their time to do things that our supportive office staff can do. Additionally, fellows have the opportunity to collaborate with other healthcare professionals and participate in ongoing education and training opportunities. At Early Bird Developmental Services, we have occupational therapists and physical therapists we work with regularly.

Our experienced supervisor follows ASHA and NC guidelines to ensure each fellow receives the necessary training to develop their clinical skills and expertise. Since beginning this program only five years ago, we are proud to announce we have had all of our clinical fellows finish on time; all with 2+ reports to ASHA.  We currently have had seven previous remain CF’s on staff, with the only ones not staying with us moving out of the area. We love when we have the opportunity to offer a CF a full time placement with us!

We are committed to providing a supportive and challenging learning environment that prepares our fellows for successful careers in speech pathology.
