Early Intervention & Special Instruction

Early intervention services help young children grow and develop and support their families in caring for them. The service of Special Instruction is North Carolina's version of a federally mandated program for global developmental intervention. It is uniquely designed to enhance cognitive, physical, behavioral, self-help, social-emotional, and language skills and is only offered to children who are enrolled in the Children's Developmental Services Agency. This service was historically known as Community Based Rehabilitative Services (CBRS).
